Apple Sector Conglomeration Educations Conducted

Karaman, October 2016

“Karaman Apple Sector Conglomeration and Local Economic Development Training Program” was held in Karaman from the 3th to the 4th of August in cooperation with the Mevlana Development Agency, United Nations Development Programme, Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock and Karaman Apple Producers Association. The training was held in order to create awareness and a sense of ownership among, and especially the senior managers of, public institutions, non-governmental organizations, private sector, local governments, universities and research institutes operating in and providing service to the apple industry to ensure that the conglomerate establishment process progresses seamlessly and more rapidly.

 

The training program, prepared and presented by the United Nations Development Programme Inclusive and Sustainable Growth Portfolio Director Pelin Rodoplu and Local Socio-Economic Development Sector Director Bülent Açıkgöz included topics on new approaches to development policies, new economic order and changing competition agenda, the definition of conglomeration, the relationship between conglomeration and value chain, the importance of conglomeration for the public-private sectors and the benefits of conglomeration as well as showcasing successful experiences in conglomeration.
